Security: Saverino (Democratic Party) "Central Catania is like the Wild West."

"The scenes of routine madness and violence continue in the center of Catania. The fight that resulted in a stabbing on Via Gambino, just steps from the scene of Alessandro Indurre's murder, demonstrates once again the unprecedented security crisis in the Etna capital that risks escalating into something far worse." This is according to Ersilia Saverino, a Democratic Party member of the Sicilian Regional Assembly.

"The last few days have seen a veritable war bulletin. Law enforcement and the judiciary are doing everything they can to ensure citizens' safety, but politicians must do their part, not with proclamations and platitudes, but with action. We need a concerted effort, transcending party lines, and concrete action. The people of Catania don't deserve this," concludes Ersilia Saverino.
